In November 2020, members of the Jadu team attended TechShare Pro, an annual accessibility and inclusive design conference hosted by AbilityNet. The event focuses on offering insights and knowledge to attendees on creating and delivery digitally inclusive web content. Here are some key takeaways from the session ‘Making Social Media Accessible’, to help you make your accounts accessible to all:
During the COVID-19 pandemic, councils have had to react quickly and efficiently to launch new services, move staff members to new departments to support increased demand and work remotely. But as the pandemic began to plateau, we observed a reset beginning to happen in local government, as councils finally had a chance to step back and assess the current situation, and how their new operations were fairing up.
Accessibility has never been so important, it’s also a requirement and for certain organisations, the law.

New services they needed to launch early on included; supplying Business Grant forms, supporting vulnerable residents, delivering food parcels and waste management services.

We’re good at making tools and supporting our customers to make best use of those tools.
